Dear Neighbor,
I am writing to ask for your support as I launch my campaign to continue to be your voice on the Albany Common Council.
I have a record of accomplishments, and I have gotten results throughout our neighborhood. I have worked to ensure that pesticides will not be sprayed again while children play in Ridgefield Park, organized neighbors to clear unshoveled snow on our city sidewalks, and sponsored a Complete Streets ordinance to make our streets safer for everyone who uses our roads. When devastating flooding occurred in Pine Hills, I worked with neighbors and city officials to find a solution for this chronic issue. Flooding mitigation for Ryckman Alley was just completed, and work to address Elberon Place flooding is underway. I've never missed a Council Meeting since taking office in 2010, and I’m the only current Common Council member with perfect attendance. I am an outspoken, results-oriented advocate for preserving and improving quality of life in our neighborhood.
As a mother, homeowner and longtime resident of our neighborhood, I work for you every single day. I am an active member of the Pine Hills Neighborhood Association, the 10th Ward Democratic Committee, and the Upper Madison Street Fair Steering Committee. As Chair of the Common Council Public Safety Committee, I work to further the community policing philosophy of the Albany Police Department.
With your support this election season I will continue to work hard and get results so that our neighborhood remains a great place to live and raise a family.
Thank you and I look forward to seeing you soon,
Leah Golby
